First construction steel delivered to Rieber Eiendom

Our first delivery of HSQ beams delivered as a pilot project with Rieber Eiendom. Steel from AF Offshore Decom and production at Skanska steel factory. Design and project lead, Nordic Circles.

In this project, Rieber have replaced four hat profile beams in the Fender building (22.8 meters out of a total of 404 meters, equivalent to 5.6%) with hat profile beams from Nordic Circles and Oppsirk.

The four hat profile beams in up cycled steel have an emission of only 0.68 tons of CO₂e (a reduction of 94–96% compared to new steel).

If the four beams had been made of new steel, the emissions would have been between 2.8 and 5.5 tons of CO₂e.

If all the hat profile beams in the entire structure had been made of up cycled steel, we would have saved the environment from emissions of between 133.7 and 262.6 tons of CO₂e (!) – the equivalent of enough gasoline to drive an average car approximately 21–41 times around the Earth.
